A contemporary author and a philosopher went to the United States for the first time...

A contemporary author and a philosopher went to the United States for the first time. He went to a restaurant when he got hungry.

The philosopher who had never been to such a restaurant sat at a table thinking that a waiter would come to ask his orders. He waited for a while, he was about to lose his patience.

The waiters did not pay any attention to him. He was losing his patience.

The worst thing was that even the new comers were sitting next to him had their meals on their plates.

Sadly he went to the table next to him and said to the man:

    - I have been sitting here for about twenty minutes but nobody took my orders yet. Although you came five minutes ago you are having your meals.

    The man:

    - I could not get the point.

    The philosopher:

    - In this country don't people know how to host visitors?

    The man got puzzled :

    - But this is a self-service restaurant.

By pointing at the food corner where many kinds of food were being displayed he said:

    - Go there, take a tray and choose your food, after you pay the bill, sit somewhere and enjoy your food .

Feeling like a fool the philosopher did what the man told him to do.

While he was putting his tray full of meals on the table , a sentence came to his mind:

"Life is just like a self-service."

All the events, news, opportunities, happinesses, sorrows, pains stay in front of us.

But most of us are stuck onto our chairs, wondering about "what others have on their plates" and the reason "why others have bigger shares".

We are so lost that we can not understand.

    But it is very simple:

Stand up from your chairs and look what you have in front of you. Then choose whatever you want.
